Disciplines
Historically, mainstream engineering is divided into the four broad
disciplines of chemical, civil, electrical and mechanical engineering.
Within each discipline there are several branches of engineering,
covering an enormous range of fields. Today, we are seeing the emergence
of new disciplines of engineering. Here is a description of some
of the major fields of engineering.
